Light and Lovely Peonies for A Light and Bright Spring Weekend

Happy Furry Friday!  The pink peonies are remarkably ripe now with fragrance and beauty.  Spring is finally in the air, and with bright vibrance here in California this weekend. Love it!  I wish you all a glorious spring weekend, hopefully not too hot, not too cold, but just right.  Have fun and enjoy the spring air, and spring light sweet friends.

Peonies from A Kind Gentleman

This magnificent magical pink peony bouquet came home yesterday as a special gift from a kind gentleman stranger at the front of the grocery checkout line.  When asked for his first name as I thanked him, he replied, "no names, instead, may the kindness spread beyond and never stop, I just met an old friend who I hadn't seen in many years."  The art of random acts of kindness are not lost.  And, after photographing the bouquet of 5 blossoms that came home with us with this beautiful blessing, I gave one peonie to Rusty Bear's ma and another peonie to Max's ma.  This morning Max's ma said, "Guess what happened to me last night... in the middle of the night I got a random phone call from an old friend of mine who I haven't spoken to in 17 years!"  

So the chain of magic goes on and on and on... link after link... person to person.  We thank you, whoever you are, dear nameless stranger, and maybe we'll meet again.

Happy Tuesday!  and Texture Tuesday at that.  

Sorry for a few days absence, but I've been snuggling with mom, cause she has been under the weather.  But what a nice surprise to to find out on my return that last Tuesday's Texture photo made Explore.  Thanks everybody!

Today's challenge is a picture with words.  I combined Kim Klassen's beautiful textures, "Yesteryear" and her latest one, "Subtly Yours."  Thanks Kim!  

Now, I've been dying to find out what's inside that box!  But, my pawents said I'll have to wait and see until June 20th to open it!

In Remembrance of Lucky Charm

Dear friends, 

Such deeply sad news received this evening, suddenly and unexpectedly.  Golden girl, Lucky Charm, passed away this morning.

We will miss her so much.

Running To Catch The Waves Beach

Hello my friends.  Hope you're having a great weekend.

Here are a couple more action shots from yesterday's beach visit as I made my first run to catch a wave before getting all wet.

Yesterday, Simon, Sophie's dad, asked me if there's anything I don't do and, if there's anything I do that I shouldn't.  Well, I cannot catch balls, frisbees or any toys for that matter.  Not I!  I just don't have impressive athletic skills and I'm not a hyper active dog who runs much. Something I love to do that I'm not supposed to do, is tear out globs of grass.  So, if someone can teach me how to catch, please do.  And, if you too are inclined to mow lawns using your mouth, then let's start a doggy mowing club.

Saturday at the Beach

I don't mind that we didn't get to the exciting beach destination that was planned for today.  The weather was not cooperative, so we didn't drive out to Stinson Beach where the waves are huge.  But you know, to me, a beach is a beach no matter where it is. 

I did have a delightful spa visit after my visit to the tame beach along the bay, and now, I'm so soft and fluffy, but completely exhausted.   Modeling my new hair doo for you will just have to wait til tomorrow, as my head and eye lids are very heavy.

Ambrosia

It's Friday again, furry and all!  This gorgeous bouquet of heavenly scented Star Lilies, all in full open bloom, is for a peaceful Memorial Weekend.

My pawents are taking me tomorrow to a new beach I've never been to before where the waves are big and the beaches are wide.  Afterward, I'll be treated at a doggy spa, for it's that time again to get thoroughly groomed, trimmed, clipped, and cleaned!

Spring Rain, Spring Shine, I Love My New Umbrella in Springtime

One of the reasons why spring is my favorite season of the year is this...  Today it rained and it shined.  Don't you love the combination of soft rain and warm sun?  It's magic -- the air smells so fresh and the sun rays open the water drops so everything is misty and sparkling at the same time.  I could just sense a Jeanie flying out of her bottle.  

So, I opened my new umbrella today!  It's a secret umbrella from Victoria.  Or, a Victoria's Secret umbrella.  So I'm dry and I'm cool.  And I'm relaxing under my pink umbrella in the rain and the sun, as this happy Jeanie flies all around laughing because spring is in the air. 

The second reason why spring is my favorite season of the year is because it's time to wear pink.  Pink, sweet and innocent, pretty and playful.

Tomorrow, I won't be here, but I'll be back Friday.  Until then... many wags.

Texture Tuesday - A Photo from YesterYear

This photo is from yesteryear, and it also has one layer of Kim Klassen's texture called 'Yesteryear' especially for her Texture Tuesday challenge today.   Some of you will recognize who the little white sleeping beauty is with her big wide eyes open!  Yes, that is Miss Penny.  This photo was taken during our winter holiday in 2009.  We went together to see the snow for the first time in our lives as pups at Lake Almanor.  It was one of the best vacations we two girls could ask for!  We got lots and lots of snow to play in, and we had a warm fireplace to snuggle up cozy together and stay warm.  Penny is still in our thoughts, and so very missed.  She's doing well, getting along happily with the cat and coming upon her second birthday year too soon.
