Texture Tuesday - A Photo from YesterYear

This photo is from yesteryear, and it also has one layer of Kim Klassen's texture called 'Yesteryear' especially for her Texture Tuesday challenge today.   Some of you will recognize who the little white sleeping beauty is with her big wide eyes open!  Yes, that is Miss Penny.  This photo was taken during our winter holiday in 2009.  We went together to see the snow for the first time in our lives as pups at Lake Almanor.  It was one of the best vacations we two girls could ask for!  We got lots and lots of snow to play in, and we had a warm fireplace to snuggle up cozy together and stay warm.  Penny is still in our thoughts, and so very missed.  She's doing well, getting along happily with the cat and coming upon her second birthday year too soon.

Today, I was so excited to play outside with Devereaux. He weights 3 or 4 pounds, and is so tiny, I sometimes can't find him under my big feet. We will be watching him on Thursdays. So, over the next few months, we'll get to see him grow up!

Happy Furry Friday From Rusty, Romeo, Max and Very ViVi!

Today, I hosted a doggy day afternoon at my house.  This gang and I wish you a very happy Furry Friday and a good start to the weekend.  Sorry that Maddy is missing from this photo.  She was with her mom today taking care of last minute details before her big trip.  Tomorrow, Saturday, will be my very last day playing with Maddy before she goes away.  I will need a box of tissues.  It's not going to be easy for us to say good-bye and part ways.  So, tomorrow, we need to enjoy every moment to the very last drop.

Max, the white furry fluff ball in the forefront of this photo, is seven years old.  Poor boy has had diabetes for several years. Unfortunately, very recently, he has started getting cataracts in both his eyes.  But, his cute puppy spirit will keep him forever and ever young at heart. 

I wish there had been more time this week to visit you all, my sweet wonderful Flickr friends, but it's been a busy week with a few unexpected events to take care of. This weekend is going to be precious with Maddy going away.  But I'll come by soon, I promise.  I enjoy every one of your thoughtful words you leave on my photos, but I'm afraid catching up is going to be a bit hard for a few more days.

Wise Words From Rusty Bear

Rusty Bear is an amazing Dawg-Father.  He had double knee surgery last November to help his dislocated bones after the massive amounts of abuse he endured before getting rescued. But the way he struts today, you'd never believe what difficult painful times he has been through in his life.  He's a true role model to the world.  We are writing his heroic story and we'll keep you updated when it's published. 

Sharing Good Times

Yesterday, Maddy and I shared good times rolling in the grass, enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sunshine.  These are the good days we cherish with all our hearts.

Well everyone, there's never a good time to break hard news, but Maddy and I feel you should know sooner rather than suddenly later the changes coming our way.  On May 15th, Maddy will be moving with her family many many miles away.  Life brings changes.  C'est la vie.  We still have 4 weeks left before then, so, we will fully enjoy and appreciate all the time we have between now and then.  Right?  Right!!

{2/8/11} The Valentine's Contest Drawing

Today Maddy came over for a playdate, and together we decided that this is a pretty red box (don't you think?) to use for the Valentine's Day Contest drawing.

If you haven't yet heard, I'll be holding a surprise contest drawing on Valentine's Day for everyone. I will draw 5 winning numbers out of this red box. I love the submissions entered so far!
