I added two layers of her "Sweet Tart" to a picture from yesterday morning in the garden.

I also want to thank everyone for your compliments on my book.  I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the movie preview yesterday.  Some of you asked about getting pawdographed books.  I think that will be pawsible, IF Very Vivi gets printed by a book publisher (someday, hopefully). Then copies will be reasonably affordable and I'd be delighted to personally pawdograph copies for all of you.  While self-publishing is a fun and exciting project to do (and I recommend trying Blurb's SmartBook if you want to make a coffee table book), the only problem is it's expensive, especially once a book goes over 90-pages and top quality papers, linens, and the largest size book are ordered.  I'll let you know if a publisher takes it.

Live Laugh Love Everyday

Some background on Canterbury Bells: Referred to as the bellflower for its bell-like shape, this flower is known by many names, one being “Venus’ Looking Glass.” This name came about because of the campanula’s place in mythological story telling. Venus owned a magical mirror which reflected only beautiful images. When she lost this mirror, she sent Cupid to find it. Cupid dropped the looking glass and it shattered into a million pieces. True to its practice of making everything around it beautiful, the glass fell to the ground and sprouted stunning blue, bell-shaped flowers. These flowers have other folkloric tales attached to them. For instance, it was said that fairies planted campanulas to trap those who passed them – especially small children.  The campanula flower is frequently given as a sort of “thank you” gift, as these blossoms are often thought to represent gratitude. They are also given as symbols of affection, as they are sometimes said to symbolize constancy and everlasting love, as well as humility and delicacy.

Despite the grey skies above me all week, I'm ready to start the weekend.  Happy Furry Friday everyone!

Tomorrow, I'll visit my brother Bubba and see how he's doing.  The horse vet diagnosed Bubba with an eye disease. He's getting injections of medicine twice daily, to help him. Poor guy.

It's Texture Tuesday and Kim Klassen's theme today is Pretty In Pink. While borrowed from the archives, this new version of the photograph has an addition of two beautifully handmade textures by Kim Klassen, "Yesteryear" and "Aurora."  She pours her love and care into making her free-to-use textures, so thank you very much Kim!

Light and Lovely Peonies for A Light and Bright Spring Weekend

Happy Furry Friday!  The pink peonies are remarkably ripe now with fragrance and beauty.  Spring is finally in the air, and with bright vibrance here in California this weekend. Love it!  I wish you all a glorious spring weekend, hopefully not too hot, not too cold, but just right.  Have fun and enjoy the spring air, and spring light sweet friends.

Peonies from A Kind Gentleman

This magnificent magical pink peony bouquet came home yesterday as a special gift from a kind gentleman stranger at the front of the grocery checkout line.  When asked for his first name as I thanked him, he replied, "no names, instead, may the kindness spread beyond and never stop, I just met an old friend who I hadn't seen in many years."  The art of random acts of kindness are not lost.  And, after photographing the bouquet of 5 blossoms that came home with us with this beautiful blessing, I gave one peonie to Rusty Bear's ma and another peonie to Max's ma.  This morning Max's ma said, "Guess what happened to me last night... in the middle of the night I got a random phone call from an old friend of mine who I haven't spoken to in 17 years!"  

So the chain of magic goes on and on and on... link after link... person to person.  We thank you, whoever you are, dear nameless stranger, and maybe we'll meet again.

It's Friday again, furry and all!  This gorgeous bouquet of heavenly scented Star Lilies, all in full open bloom, is for a peaceful Memorial Weekend.

My pawents are taking me tomorrow to a new beach I've never been to before where the waves are big and the beaches are wide.  Afterward, I'll be treated at a doggy spa, for it's that time again to get thoroughly groomed, trimmed, clipped, and cleaned!
